Accessibility statement

This accessibility statement applies to southamptontradingstandards.co.uk

We are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

This website has been designed and built to the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines POUR criteria; Perceivable, Operable, Understandable & Robust. We have tested the accessibility of this website using WAVE Accessibility Evaluation Tools.

The site displays correctly in current browsers and using standards compliant HTML/CSS code means any future browsers will also display it correctly.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader
  • navigate our responsive website using a smartphone or tablet.

We’ve also made the website content as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability, for example:

  • making text larger
  • magnifying the screen
  • changing your colours
  • using your own style sheets.

You can change text size using your browser.

In Internet Explorer, go to ‘view‘ > ‘text size‘. Select the text size you require.

In Google Chrome, go to ‘customize‘ > ‘zoom‘ and use the options to select the text size you require.

In Firefox, go to ‘view‘ > ‘text size‘. You can increase or decrease the text size as required.

In Safari, go to ‘View' > 'Zoom In' or 'Zoom Out' to increase or decrease the text size, respectively.
